SEIU Florida, which represents more than 55,000 active and retired health care professionals, public employees, airport workers, adjunct faculty and property service staff in the state, has announced its “Vote for Freedom” platform for the 2018 Election that highlights the needs and basic freedoms of working Floridians to support their families.

Miami, FL — Members of SEIU Florida, which represents more than 55,000 active and retired healthcare professionals, public employees and property service workers in the state, have endorsed Andrew Gillum for governor and announced a $5 million statewide effort to support candidates that best serve working families.

The Florida Freedom Forum will be hosted by a coalition of groups including SEIU Florida State Council, Dream Defenders Action Fund, Florida Immigration Coalition (FLIC) Votes, New Florida Majority, Organize Florida, and Florida Planned Parenthood PAC.

Orlando, FL – The members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Florida are proud to endorse Tom Keen for Orlando City Commission, District 1. Miami, FL— Today, the members of SEIU Florida expressed their strong support for José Suárez and have endorsed him for City of Miami Commission, District 3 in the upcoming November election.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, Florida House Democrats walked out of a hearing on refugees in protest of a presentation led by Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, which has been called a hate group and described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an organization “spreading anti-immigrant ideas.” Monica Russo, SEIU Florida president and executive vice president of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers, has released the following statement in support of the walk-out:
