SEIU Florida Members Endorse in Tampa Run-Off Elections

Tampa, FL — Members of SEIU Florida have announced their endorsements for the elections on April 23rd in the Tampa run-off races.


The endorsed candidates have proven themselves and commit to being champions of working people and their families. This includes supporting establishment or increase of living wages, defending and supporting collective bargaining and union rights, focusing on building community wealth for poor and working people, housing affordability, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and fighting attempts to preempt local governments.


“Working families deserve elected leadership that will fight for their most vital concerns through government,” said Monica Russo, President of SEIU Florida. “SEIU members came together in Tampa to endorse the candidates they feel will best represent them through office. We look forward to working alongside our next elected leaders in City.”


The members of SEIU Florida have made the following endorsements for the run-off election on April 23:

Jane Castor, Mayor

Walter Smith, City Commission District 1

John Dingfelder, City Commission District 3

Orlando Gudes, City Commission District 5
